Vice Chairman’s Address for Lincoln Day and County Caucus
Members and Supporters of the RPSCC,
As we approach Lincoln Day and our County Caucus, it’s a good time to reflect on our purpose as an organization and what each of us can do individually to contribute to that effort. I would challenge us all to recommit ourselves to uniting around our common conservative principles. We stand firmly on the timeless truths of God’s Word that guided our founding fathers to write the Declaration of Independence and our US Constitution which have guided this nation for 2 ½ centuries. Our State Constitution and the principles and values in the Republican Party platform are direct reflections of these founding documents, and what we must focus on to bring us together for our common purpose. According to Article II of our State and County Republican Party Constitutions, our stated purpose is “To advance in every honorable way fundamental Republican principles and policies.”
The political left continues to work relentlessly to remove God from the public domain to establish their distorted world view. They deny the most fundamental truths of nature, seeking to divide us over issues such as gender, marriage, health, self defense, and the sanctity of life. We must not become distracted by their efforts, but remain committed to advancing our fundamental Republican principles. According to Article 22 of the Wisconsin Constitution, “The blessings of a free government can only be maintained by a firm adherence to justice, . . . and by frequent recurrence to fundamental principles.”
As I’ve been told, the 2021 County Caucus and the events leading up to it have left a deep impression on many of our members. Despite this, the accomplishments of our County Party over the past 2 years have been nothing short of astounding, made possible on the solid foundation laid down by the work of our members in previous years. Membership, volunteers, and event attendance have consistently increased enabling us to open and sustain a permanent self-funded headquarters with a new website and technology platform. We’ve seen high profile elected officials, candidates, and influencers from every level regularly attend our special events, and county wide Republican voter turnout has increased. These accomplishments are a testament to the resilience of our members and our leadership. Your County Party continues to be strong because of you and your support.
Lincoln Day will be an event to rally around our commons purpose, to make new friendships, strengthen or rejuvenate old friendships, and to honor and support those who work in our communities. For more details, check out the event page on our website.
Our County Caucus will be the time to conduct official party business. Before the Caucus on March 11th, please take time to review the agenda as posted on our website.
In closing, my prayer is that we can move beyond the events of the past and recommit to our fundamental principles in order to move forward as a party and truly find unity in our common purpose. For we are “One Nation under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for All.” I look forward to seeing you at Lincoln Day on Feb 25th and/or the County Caucus on March 11th as we work to advance in every honorable way the fundamental principles of the Republican Party.
