A Call to Condemn Political Persecutions of President Trump

– A Call to Condemn Political Persecutions of President Trump –

August 31, 2023

Fellow Citizens,

I ask you to stand with the Executive Board of the Republican Party of St. Croix County in condemning the actions of corrupt government actors attempting to criminalize the legal, lawful, and constitutionally protected thought, speech, and actions of President Donald J. Trump and his associates. This is not a thinly veiled endorsement or a call for political support, but rather, a call to stand for truth and justice.

Agents of government coordinating their efforts to prosecute and disqualify political opponents on “pretended offenses” and fabricated indictments cannot be tolerated in a free society. Efforts to prevent political opponents from campaigning, appearing on a ballot, or serving in public office is the highest form of election fraud and interference, depriving the people their right of representation. If allowed to succeed, these acts will further accelerate our nation toward a one-party authoritarian state and the end of freedom and liberty as we know it.

With the Declaration of Independence, our nation began with a clear rejection of powerful unchecked central government authority, inevitably leading to abusive tyrannical acts of self-preservation to silence and remove all voices of opposition. Our Constitution was established to prevent these abuses of power, giving “We the People” the blueprint and solid framework for a government of the people; a Republic guaranteeing unalienable God-given rights and protections to all citizens for a free and prosperous society. We must not sit idly by and let this framework be dismantled before our eyes by ignoring or accepting the legitimacy of these politically motivated indictments, blinded by our emotions, allegiances, or ideologies.

At this moment, in the face of government-sponsored political persecution, our personal opinions of President Trump are irrelevant. This assault on justice is a call for us to stand for what is right, a call to honor those who came before us, who have sacrificed everything for the cause of freedom and liberty. As citizens of this nation and stewards of our Constitution, it is our right and duty to speak the truth and stand in opposition to these acts of tyranny. If they are ultimately allowed to succeed, today it is President Trump . . . tomorrow it is us . . .
