One Nation under God – Chairman’s Reagan Reunion Address

ONE NATION UNDER GOD (Reagan Reunion Address)

We’ve all witnessed the accelerating moral decline of our nation during our lifetimes and in recent generations. At our nation’s founding, and for generations to follow, our government and elected representatives honored God and His will, but recent generations have increasingly ignored, rejected, and now openly defy God’s will by allowing, enabling, and even promoting evil such as murdering babies up to the moment of birth, promoting the genital mutilation of minors, facilitating child trafficking across our southern border, and the list goes on. These government-endorsed atrocities will continue to escalate as long as we keep God and his word out of our public life and out of public policy.

We are called to be salt and light in this world, to preserve and shine, to prevent decay, darkness and destruction. It’s up to us collectively to change our ungodly culture. And it’s not too late. But we must not be afraid to advocate for the Godly values and principles that have built this great Nation. We still have the wisdom in the words of our forefathers written for us as a roadmap to follow in the official documents that govern our Nation, our State, and the Republican Party. This Nation was founded and flourished when elevating the will of God above the will of government. This is, as our beloved Pledge of Allegiance states, “One Nation under God”. 

God’s Word says “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” And it gave us the 10 Commandments as the basis for morality and justice.

The Declaration of Independence states we are ”endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness – That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted . . .”

The Wisconsin Constitution says “ We, the people of Wisconsin, grateful to Almighty God for our freedom, in order to secure its blessings, form a more perfect government, ensure domestic tranquility, and promote the general welfare, do establish this Constitution.” Article 1 states that “ The blessings of a free government can only be maintained by a firm adherence to justice, moderation, temperance, frugality and virtue, and by frequent recurrence of fundamental principles.” 

The RNC Platform says Republicans believe in “preserving American values and traditions” and “protecting constitutionally-guaranteed freedoms, ensuring the integrity of our elections, and maintaining our national security. We are working to preserve America’s greatness for our children and grandchildren.” It goes on to say “we were originally founded in 1854 for the purpose of ending slavery” and “compels us to patriotically defend America’s values. As the left attempts to destroy what makes America great, the Republican Party is standing in the breach to defend our nation and way of life.”

The RPW Platform states that “The Republican Party must reaffirm the timeless truths that have made this country exceptional in the past and will do so in the future”, and further defines this as One Nation Under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for All ”.

Our Official National Motto is “In God we Trust”, and is printed on our currency as a daily reminder. This is not an accident, it is THE Fundamental Principle for the Freedoms and Liberties we hold dear. Outside of God, we have no claim to freedom and liberty. Let me restate that. Without our Government being subject to Almighty God, and subject to His will and authority, we have no claim to freedom and liberty. God’s Law is the only thing that holds Government in check. A government that is not SUBJECT to God, will inevitably BECOME “God”. It will determine what’s right and wrong . . . It will determine what’s good and evil . . . It will even determine who lives and dies . . . all for the preservation and benefit of the government, and those in positions of power.

As Americans, and as Republicans working in the political arena, let’s not let God continue to be cast out of public discourse and public policy decisions. Let’s not be shy about our Christian Faith and its role in building this great nation. Let’s be evangelists of the Truth, boldly professing our belief in the blessings that come from public policy that adheres to the will of Almighty God. Let’s be evangelists of the Truth, boldly giving God the proper glory and honor he deserves, just as our forefathers did.  It is the only path to restore this great Nation and to pass on the torch of righteousness, freedom, and liberty to our children, and to countless generations to come.
