Merry Christmas to all our wonderful Members and Supporters!
As we celebrate Christmas, we must remember the essential role Jesus Christ has played, not only in securing our salvation, but also in securing our freedoms and liberties as United States Citizens, which we work so hard to preserve, promote and defend as members of the Republican Party. Individual liberty is foreign to most non-Christian cultures around the world that often view certain classes and groups of people as inherently inferior, or as subjects to benefit the rich and powerful, often resulting in human suffering and abuse. The teachings and sacrificial life of Jesus Christ inverted this paradigm, elevating each individual to an equal status before God, to be honored and valued with inherent dignity and worth, regardless of their station in life. We see this fundamental teaching reflected in the Declaration of Independence: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed”. The forces of evil in this world that wish to control and enslave others for their own benefit have always been at work to subvert, undermine, and tear down what Christ and his followers work so hard to build. Instead of promoting peace, life, love, and unity, they promote conflict, death, hate, and division, which has been evident throughout history and continues to this day. Our constitutional republic was built on the timeless truths and principles of Jesus Christ recorded in God’s Word for the benefit of all humanity. In closing, as we celebrate this Christmas with friends and family, enjoying the freedom and blessings a Christian society provides to all people, let’s remember that our eternal salvation as well as our earthly liberty are both inseparably linked to a faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as the “King of Kings, and Lord of Lords”.
