Christi Westlund for New Richmond School Board 

Hello! My name is Christi Westlund, and I am running for the School Board in the New Richmond School District. I am ready and willing to serve our community and will strive to earn your support and your vote in the April 1, 2025 election. Here is a bit more about me:

• Dedicated wife and mother of two children, one in the Middle School and one in Paperjack Elementary.
• Near life-long New Richmond resident.
• Graduated from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (2006).
• Accountant with a construction company in St. Paul, MN for 12 years.
• Small business owner of an ecommerce store since 2010.

The parents of the New Richmond School District deserve to be able to send their children to a school where the top priority is the success and welfare of the children. One that is free of divisive and harmful ideologies. One that focuses on providing an excellent education and a safe and healthy environment for everyone. For several years now, I have helped lead the charge to advocate for parent and student rights and will continue ensuring your voice as a parent is heard in our district! To this end, I have stood up on the hard issues to help counter the extreme voices seemingly working to destroy the core values that many Americans hold near and dear, including opposing Title IX. I believe in: 

• Focusing on the basics in education such as Reading, Writing, Math, and History, along with teaching real-life skills to prepare students for success and responsibility.
• Continuing to ensure a divisive-free education that plagues many districts nationwide.
• Working to ensure that your hard-earned tax dollars are spent wisely and responsibly, as well as increase overall transparency.

As a mother of two young children in the district, you can rest assured that I am invested in the success of our schools and in the success of all children alike. As an accountant, you can be sure that I will keep a close watch on maintaining fiscal responsibility of your tax dollars. As a small business owner, you can be sure that I know how to and will use creative solutions in solving problems that arise and will advocate and promote our school just as I have done with my small business. I will always strive to support that your voice is heard. Thank you for the opportunity to be heard, and for the opportunity to earn your vote on April 1, 2025. I look forward to meeting many voters over the next several weeks as we near the Spring Election.
