Monday evening at 5:30pm, there will be a demonstration outside of the LE Phillips Library, 400 Eau Claire Street, Eau Claire. There is a mall outside the library which can be prominently viewed from the 3rd floor of the library where the meeting will take place, There is a parking garage 1 block southeast of the library on Gibson Street.
Things learned since the informational meeting Thursday night:
World Relief said that they coordinated with the Sheriff and they lied. He denies any knowledge of refugees
A very reliable source said that World Relief did not do proper coordination on this effort.
Yesterday morning a request was made from World Relief for minutes from their coordination meetings with the state and local governments. Nothing yet.
A very reliable source said that the person who signed the abstract or agreement was the city manager. She is hired by the city council and no one voted for her. When the refugees arrive and the city has to pay interpreters $75 an hour to help the refugees, along with many other things. Where do you think that money will come from? This is taxation without representation.
The question is what do the city council members know and when did they know it?
Monday at 6:00pm is the community information meeting. The meeting room in the library holds 200, and they will try to fill the room with supporters. It is recommended arriving at 5:00pm if you want in the room, and they will most likely not take questions or comments.

TALKING POINTS
1. This is not about refugees. This about the law which was not followed.
Excerpt from 8 US Code 1522
The Director and the Federal agency administering subsection (b)(1) shall consult regularly (not less often than quarterly) with State and local governments and private nonprofit voluntary agencies concerning the sponsorship process and the intended distribution of refugees among the States and localities before their placement in those States and localities.
Notice the word “shall”. It does not say may. This process must be adhered to and they did not.
2. The citizens were never informed this was being planned, nor were they asked their opinion.
3. Which local elected officials did they coordinate with? There is no record of this in the city council meeting minutes for the past year.
4. The refugee resettlement office provides support for 90 days, then it is up to the local taxpayers to provide services. This is taxation without representation.
5. This opening of a refugee resettlement office was conducted under the cover of darkness. What are they trying to hide? Are they afraid that the citizens would not approve?
6. This country already has open borders and illegals are streaming in. Why are we doing this?
6. We already have a housing shortage in this city. Bringing in more unhoused people does not help.
7. We have a large homeless population in the city. What happens to them?
Rules for the demonstration
The goal of the demonstration is to encourage people to consider our point of view.
1. Our target audience is blue collar Democrats. We will not persuade progressives.
2. Be nice, be polite, be friendly.
3. No open carry weapons. If you carry, make sure it is 100% concealed and not sticking out of the bottom of a shirt or jacket.
4. No Trump gear. We are trying to change minds, not trigger weak minded people.
If these rules are too much to ask, please stay home.
Signs. Having some signs out there helps get the idea across.
Two possible signs
1. No taxation without representation
2. Democracy dies in the darkness (This will drive progressives crazy, and this is what is on the front page of every Washington Post), However it is applicable here. This entire effort was conducted under the cover of darkness.
