The following referendum will be on ALL ballots in St. Croix County:

Under state law, the increase in the levy for St. Croix County for the tax to be imposed for the next fiscal year, 2025, is limited to 2%, based on St. Croix County’s best estimate, which results in a levy of $46,002,438.

QUESTION: Shall St. Croix County be allowed to exceed this limit and increase the levy for the next fiscal year, 2025, for the purpose of hiring two Mental Health Co-Responders, one Youth Justice Early Intervention Specialist, two Sheriff Corrections Deputies, one Sheriff Investigator, one District Attorney Investigator, and one Deputy Clerk Of Court; to address the County’s most pressing public safety needs, by a total of 1.96%, which results in a levy of $46,898,438, and on an ongoing basis, include the increase of $896,000 each fiscal year going forward.

A “Yes” vote means that you support additional personnel being hired to address the increasing public safety needs within St. Croix County for an additional $896,000 per year added to the tax levy. The one-time increase creates a new authorized tax levy total amount going forward. The one-time increase is equivalent to $5 per $100,000 of property value.

A “No” vote means that you do not support additional public safety personnel being hired for an additional $896,000 per year added to the tax levy.

Please see https://www.sccwi.gov/1040/Public-Safety-Referendum for more information.

The following constitutional referendums will be on ALL ballots in Wisconsin:

QUESTION 1: Use of private funds in election administration. Shall section 7 (1) of article III of the constitution be created to provide that private donations and grants may not be applied for, accepted, expended, or used in connection with the conduct of any primary, election, or referendum?

A “Yes” vote supports this amendment to prohibit any level of government in the state from applying or accepting non-governmental funds or equipment for election administration.

Question 1 would amend the Wisconsin Constitution to add a section to Article III to prohibit any level of government in the state from applying or accepting non-governmental funds or equipment for election administration.

QUESTION 2: Election officials. Shall section 7 (2) of article III of the constitution be created to provide that only election officials designated by law may perform tasks in the conduct of primaries, elections, and referendums?

A “Yes” vote supports this amendment to provide that only election officials designated by law may administer elections.

Question 2 would add a new section to Article III of the state constitution that states that no one other than an election official authorized by law may help conduct any election in the state.

Both of these state referendums are in response to what happened in Wisconsin in 2020 with Zuckerbucks impacting our elections in primarily the top five populated cities. These Zuckerbucks triggered a number of illegal practices, such as drop boxes, GOTV campaigns run by local elections officials, and bringing in paid outsiders to administer elections in conflict with existing laws.

Both require a “YES” vote if you are in favor of cleaning up our election process in Wisconsin.
